Comments

I have changed the settings so anyone can leave a comment, you don't have to have a google account. Also, because anyone can write anything, I am going to approve all comments before they are posted. Your comment won't show right away so that I can approve it first. I'd love to know who is checking in on Tucker!

First Eats!

Our doctor said we could start some rice cereal when Tucker turned 5 months old. Here is his first taste! He was a little unsure about how to eat off a spoon, but he got some down. He mostly sucked it in and ended up with half in his mouth and half on his bib. We'll keep with the rice cereal once or twice a day for another month until his 6 month checkup and then we'll start him on some baby food.

5 Months and 15 pounds

Tucker,

You are 5 months old already. I can't believe it. You have become such a little person. You have your own personality and wants and needs. Your smiles and laughs are the best part of my day. I love every minute with you, even the tough ones! You're such a strong boy, you love sitting on your own and standing and walking with help. I'm so happy that mommy and daddy are your best friends. And you're even enjoying Leia now. I love you so much, my big boy!

Swimming Again

Tucker seemed to enjoy swimming more this time. He knew what was going on and splashed around in the water. It really wears him out, he doesn't even make it home before falling asleep!

Sitting Pretty (or Handsome)

Tucker has really been wanting to sit up. He didn't care much about any of the other milestones: holding his head up, rolling over. But he doen't want to lay down or lean back anymore. He wants to sit. He's pretty close, but he folds in half over his legs most of the time. On Easter he sat for about 10 seconds on his own before he tipped over. He even did it twice so mommy could catch it on camera the second time!

Easter

We had a great Easter. Tucker and Mommy got up early and made a big yummy breakfast. After that we hunter for Easter Baskets. Daddy's had peeps and reeses eggs in it, Mommy's had peeps and malted milk eggs in it, Leia's eggs had treats in them and a squeaky toy, and Tucker's had a Baby Einstein DVD, a Baby Einstein CD and 3 Sesame Street books.

Then we died Easter Eggs while Tucker sat in his new high chair for the first time. (We got in on Craig's List, we had to clean it up at bit, and we're ordering a cool new orange seat cover. It was a steal, we saved about $120 from buying the same one new.)
After lunch we went on a nice walk and Tucker got to try out his new awesome sunglasses! Then we went to church wearing our nice Easter clothes. (top pic)

Hard Rock with Uncle Miah

Uncle Miah was in Denver for Spring Break and we got to go down and meet him and his friends at Hard Rock Cafe for supper. Tucker wore his "Lil' Stang" shirt for the Morningside students! We had a great time seeing Uncle Miah since we miss him so much!

Easter Bunny

Tucker got to see the Easter Bunny at the mall today. He really liked his furry hands!

New Skills

Some new things we are doing this week:

Tucker reaches up for toys and will hold his hands up until he get it. He used to just grab at it once and if he missed he'd put his hands back down.

Yesterday he rolled from his back to his tummy and now he won't stop. Every time I lay him on his back he rolls over. He's not as good from his tummy to his back so he can't get back over and gets frustrated.

If he drops a toy beside him while he's sitting up (which he can almost do by himself!) he can reach over and pick it back up.

Happy Boy

Kathryn Turns One

We celebrated Kathryns 1st birthday and had so much fun. Kathryn was a great hostess in her beautiful handmade dress. And didn't dissapoint when she had her first taste of chocolate cake and frosting! Tucker and Daddy wore their matching shirts and everyone said how cute they were! Tucker had so much fun he fell asleep at the end of the party. Happy Birthday Kathryn!

Two Peas in a Pod

1st Egg Hunt

Hach, Doyle's work, had an Easter egg hunt this morning. Tucker got to see the Easter Bunny and hunt for eggs and even got a cool frog/ball with a Hach shirt on it. He used Daddy's firetruck basket and wore a bunny hat from Becket. It was a little cold, so we didn't stay too long, but got to meet lots of friends from Daddy's work.

Exersaucer

Tucker got a new toy that he loves. He wants to sit up by himself, but he can't quite do it yet. In the exersaucer he can practice and feel like he's doing it on his own. He really loves the spinning monkeys. Daddy taught him how to spin them by himself!

Where are you spring?

We've had a few warm days. One day it got to 67 degrees. We love taking walks when it's warm. It's something we can all do together, including Leia. Tucker enjoys them, well, what he stays awake for. One day we even walked to the mailbox in the Bjorn. The sun is very bright at this elevation, too bright for Tucker, so he wears his Pooh hat from Grandma Spence. Too cute!

Water Baby

We went to family swim at the therapy center on Friday night. It's REALLY warm water so it's perfect for Tucker. He didn't cry at all or seem scared. He wasn't sure about it at first, but he started to enjoy it more toward the end. Afterwards we went to IHOP for supper and Tucker was wore out! All the waitresses had to come see him snoozing after swimming.
