Got Milk?
November 6th,
Tucker's first taste of cow's milk. He drank it right down so we thought he would love it. Then the next couple days we had a hard time getting him to drink any. He loves it now and asks for it all day. The doctor told us we had to cut down on how much he was drinking. I guess he got his Mommy's love of milk!
Election and ER
November 4th 2008. Pictures from the day of the election. Tucker and I watched the coverage all day and I tried to teach him to say "Obama". That's the bottom picture! He had his 1 year doctors appointment in the afternoon that was uneventful. When Doyle got home we watched all evening and were so excited when Obama officially won. Tucker was napping when they made the announcement and we almost woke him up.
He started coughing and wheezing while he was asleep and the nebulizer treatment wasn't helping. We were calling the doctor's office and they transfered us to a nurse at a hospital in Denver. It was all taking too long and we'd been in this situation before, so we rushed to the Emergency room. He was a little better by the time we got there, but they gave him some more meds to loosen up his chest. They decided he had croup and kept him for a few hours to keep an eye on it. Then sent us home with instructions to bundle him up and take him for a ride in the van with the windows down if he started coughing that hard again. The cold air helps with the coughing and wheezing.
It was a long night that was great and horrible. Luckily Tucker was better in a few days and we could enjoy the thought of our new president.

New House
Here is the house we are moving into on February 22nd. We are renting for a year so that we can decide if we like the area and Doyle continues to like his job, before we buy. It is in Cedar Rapids, but a quiet family neighborhood
. It's a split level with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, laundry room, attached 2 car garage and big back yard. Here is the front (not shoveled!) and the back. We are taking a load on Friday the 20th and Dad is going to help me unload it while Doyle's at work and then taking the rest with Phil's trailer on Sunday.

Tucker's 2nd 1st Birthday Party
Dr. Seuss backpack from the Cooks
We changed up Tucker's cake for this one.

He knew what to do with the cake this time, and jumped right in. Feet first!

Here are the jello pinwheels and watermellon fruit bowl.
