First Tooth

It's not completely in yet, but it's poking through, and it's sharp! The first picture is when we tried to get it last night at the game. No luck. The next three are from this morning. It kind of looks like a hole in the pictures. Maybe you can't see it, but I can!

Rockies/Cubs: 1st Baseball Game

WooHoo, Tucker's first baseball game! Cubs and Rockies. We thought since he is a native Coloradoan, his first game should be at Coors field, but because he is an Avise-Rouse, it had to be against the Cubs! He started out in his Cubs shirt, Mommy and Daddy with their Cubs hats on and Mommy in her Rockies shirt. Half way through the game we switched him into his Rockies shirt.

About the 4th Inning Tucker started getting upset. We fed him and it still didn't help. Then mommy noticed a little white thing on his gums! The tooth is so close to coming in, but not quite through the skin yet, so I'm sure it was painful. We walked all the way around the stadium with him and he eventually fell asleep. After he woke up we took some funny baseball playing pictures of him!

We discovered that the rockpile is not the best place to sit with a child and since he was so upset anyway, we sat in a food area and Mommy watched the rest of the game on a tv. We ended up leaving in the 8th inning since Tucker wasn't feeling good and Daddy had a bad week at work and had already worked 44 hrs in 3 days! I'm sad we missed the great ending. It was 5-4 Rockies when we left. Then the Cubs scored 2 in the top on the 9th to lead 6-5, then the Rockies scored in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up and send it to extra innings. The Cubs scored again in the 10th to win 7-6! Yay Cubbies!

Doc Update

Dr. Moore said the chest x-ray looked clear, but his lungs are over-extended. So, he's on nebulizer treatments of Albuterol every 4 hrs as needed. We've done 2 so far and he's done pretty well. We turn on the DVR and watch episodes of Word World (Tucker likes it, but Mommy really likes it!) and he sits pretty well till the end. It's a long time for a 5 1/2 month old to sit still! The doc asked if I was familiar with nebulizers, and I said unfortunately a little too familiar. Luckily, I think he's a little young to figure out how to open it up and dump out the medicine like he's ornery Uncle Miah! There is a possiblity he might have asthma, but we don't know yet. The nebulizer is for his breathing and his coughing. However, for his congestion that's never gone away since December, the doctor is sending us to an allergist. We'll try and get in there next week sometime. We're going to try and vacuum and keep up on Leia's brushing a little better and hopefully that will help if it is allergies. Worst case scenerio, Leia has to become an outdoor dog. She is already pretty mad at him for taking all the attention away from her, she'll be really mad if she has to go outside! Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Tucker loves her so much, he'd really miss her! There is a possibility that it's still the RSV sticking around. It can make the littlest cold a lot worse for up to 2 years after he's had it. So, Mommy and Daddy feel better that we're finally doing something about it. We really hated the "Let's wait and see" every doctor we've seen since he got out of the hospital had said. Daddy's afraid he's starting out like the kid in the movies with his inhaler in his pocket and who's allergic to dirt! Unfortunately, I think I was the same way. Thank goodness Miah came along so they could finally figure out what I had!

Daddy's helper

Daddy's been watering the lawn by hand until the city turns on our sprinklers. Tucker is a great helper! Doesn't he look so cool in his shades?

Cup Holdin'

Tucker's growing up so fast! He just learned to hold his own bottle and sippy cup. He has a bottle sometimes when mommy's gone and he LOVES water in a sippy cup!

Friends

Tucker loves playdates! Calvin's Grandma was watching him so Tucker and I went over to their house to play. They had so much fun together they were tired and had to take a nap!

We also had 2 playdates with Kathryn! First Kathryn's mommy came over to our house to watch Tucker while Mommy cleaned and then we went over to Kathryn's house while her mommy worked. We had so much fun, Kathryn even shared her toys!

Sick, sick, sick

I haven't posted in a while because the whole family is sick. We all have colds, Daddy has a bad cough, Mommy's head is full and nose is running and Tucker is still sick. He really has never gotten completely over the RSV from December. He's been congested the last 4 months. Now he has added a horrible cough. He cries and gags and even spit up a few times from coughing so hard. I called the doctor, again, and they want him to come in, again, this time for a chest x-ray to make sure they aren't missing something just listening to his lungs. We have that appointment at 2:45 today. I'll let you all know how that goes. I can't wait for him to get over this. It's awful to know that your baby is hurting and there is nothing you can do about it. He still is very happy most of the time. I don't know how he does it, when I'm sick I'm pretty grumpy, ask Doyle, he's gotten griped at a few times this week! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Little Hero

Daddy picked out his clothes for this day. Can you tell? Daddy also decided that he needed to try a Red Robin drink. Tucker definitely enjoyed it!

We were at the mall last night and thought it would be fun to do the mall photo booth! Here's what we got.

More Cereal

Tucker finally figured out eating instead of sucking. We are enjoying it more now! He fell asleep in his high chair eating twice already, I guess it wears him out. We also got our new high chair cover, pretty cool huh?

Tucker loves Leia, I mean really loves her. If he's upsetan fussy all I have to do is call Leia over and he gets completely distracted. He sort of "pets" her, kind of grabs and pulls. But she does awesome, as long as we're petting her too, she just sits there. Even if we stop and he's still pulling on her, she'll just walk away. We always knew she'd be great with kids, but she's amazing!

Sitting and Standing!

Tucker is sitting like crazy now. He loves it. He does still tip over after a while, but it's a long while! He holds toys and chews on them while he's there.

He just learned a NEW skill the last couple days. He can stand, while holding onto something. CRAZY! He doesn't last very long, but he can do it without anyone holding him. On one milestone chart it said at 7 months a few kids would be able to do that. He has the strongest legs. Doyle says he'll probably go straight to walking and just skip crawling! Of course, that's a long time down the road. He still doesn't roll from his tummy to his back much, only when he really wants to.
