Daddy's Takin' us to the Zoo

Aug 22 - Daddy took the day off from work for his birthday and we went to the Blank Park Zoo. The boys had earned free passes through the summer reading program at our library.

My boys!!

Griffin really loved the otters. He watched them swimming back and forth for a long time!

My little Joey, er Tucker!

Grffin didn't want to try out the kangaroo alone, only with his big brother

Riding the train, always a favorite

They were both a little freaked out feeding the goats at first, but they warmed up fast.

Feeding the fish

Griffin threw in 1 tiny piece of food at a time!

Tucker threw in giant handfulls and was out of food in a couple minutes!

Griffin loves to roar so he had fun watching the lions

Cousin Day

We had our first annual "Cousin Day" on August 2nd at Great Grandma's house. Melinda and I are first cousins. Roxanne is our double-second cousin (our grandmas are sisters, our grandpas were brothers). :) We were born within a year of each other, as are our older and younger sets of kids.

<--Griffin and Kingsley

(All ages are as of Aug 2nd)
Jessie (341 months), Melinda (336 months), Roxanne (344 months)
Tucker (45 months), Aidan (48 months), Grady (38 months)
Griffin (20 months), Genevie *Evie* (23 months), Kingsley (15 months)

Random facts about us "big girls"...We did practically the same activities and sports at three different high schools. We all graduated in 2001. We all lived in Ames to go to Iowa State, but none of us have a degree from ISU. We all do something in education now. And we all have a kid with a "G" name, which is pretty rare indeed! (Grady, Genevieve and Griffin) *Thanks Melinda!!*

Griffin, Evie, Tucker and Aidan playing at the park. It was crazy hot, so that didn't last too long!

Grandma had set up a matress on the floor for Melinda and her kids to sleep on that night. It turned out to be the greatest plaything ever! Here's Tucker super-hero diving onto it.

The 3 big boys enjoyed using their mommy's cameras and phones to take lots of pictures of each other! Grady and Tucker

Aidan and Grady

Griffin loves Grandma's flowers. Kingsley in the background.

The "big boys" Aidan, Grady, and Tucker. This picture really shows how small Tucker is! Age order is Aidan, Tucker, Grady!

I just love that face! Griffin peeking around the corner

Tucker was pretty upset about the rocks in his shoes. He was sitting beside Melinda on a bench and she asked if he could smile for a picture and he said "No, I'm too grumpy"

Aidan's turn for a super-hero dive!

Tucker's grumpy face!

Me reading a Cars story to Aidan, Griffin, Tucker and Evie

The all-time, best activity of the day. Jumping on the mattress. All 6 kiddos got in on this at some point. I've never heard so much laughing and squealing! We all wished we'd brought a video camera.

Grady, Tucker and Kingsley

Tucker saying "bye" to Kingsley

Griffin and Kingsley hanging out!

More jumping from the big boys! We had such a fun cousin day!!
