Learning

We've always tried to constantly incorporate learning into our daily play. I have recently been inspired to be more specific and purposeful about it. We started with the letter 'A', number 1, and the color blue. I found worksheets online and in workbooks and the boys would do a couple of those a day. We did crafts, read books, ate snacks, played games and even went on a field trip.

Our fieldtrip to the Airport for the letter 'A'. We walked around the airport for a little bit and then went outside to watch the planes take off.

The planes were taking off right over our heads!

We made Apple smiles for our a snack. The boys mostly wanted to eat the marshmallows!

We made up a game called Alligator food. Where one boy was the alligator and one was the food. They would roll their "die" and move that many squares and the alligator would try and catch the food.

We made Ants out of egg cartons

We played a game called "color shopping" where Tucker took the cart from room to room collecting as many blue things as he could find. Then Griffin and I tried to find more.

We made pictures with torn blue paper. We read the book 10 Apples up on Top then drew a picture of ourselves and glued 10 red apples on our head. We also made clothespin and popsicle stick airplanes

We made an alligator head out of the letter A

We baked apple muffins for another snack

Next we worked on the letter 'B', number 2 and the Body.

We made paper skeletons with Bones, which also doubled as Halloween decorations!

We built with Blocks

played with Balloons

We traced around our Body and colored it, while talking about names for our body parts. They both know them pretty well already, but it was good to review!

After that our computer crashed and I lost everything I had typed, found, organized, and created. So, we're taking a break through our busy October so I can re-do all that! It's been really fun and Griffin can already find the letter 'A' so I'm excited that they are learning while having so much fun!
