A Day Out With Thomas

Daddy got tickets to "A Day Out With Thomas" at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad on September 19th for our anniversary in August. Tucker loves trains and the Thomas tv show on PBS. He posed for this picture before we even started walking from the van to the trains. I didn't think he'd keep the hat on even for a picture, but he left it on for a while after we got there. It was a gift from Great Grandpa Conz, it's still a little big, but he couldn't have looked cuter!

This car the kids could walk through and check out. They had Thomas episodes playing on a tv inside.

At the petting zoo.

He loved feeding the animals.

We signed up to win a basket of Thomas toys and DVDs. We didn't win it, but they were drawing winners ever hour for a PBS train and Daddy won one of those!

The line for Sir Topam Hat was really long and we thought Tucker would probably be afraid of him anyway (like Duck from Word World at the zoo). So we just took a picture of him and moved on to the toys.

Coloring and stamping pictures of Thomas and his friends.

Getting his Thomas tatoo on his arm. He showed this off to everyone for days and days!

He did such a great job playing with all the trains. He shared really well and moved on when it was time.

Getting ready to ride on Thomas' train. We were the last ride of the day.

Looking out the window waiting for the ride to start.

Tucker was willing to pose one more time for me in his hat while on the train! Showing off his tatoo, of course!

We got pretty bored waiting for the ride to start. Tucker was playing with my water bottle and lid. He stuck the lid on his head and said "hat"!

Our train car

Finally the trip started! Uncle Miah and Mommy used to go to a camp outside of Boone and every year when our parents would pick us up we would try and ride the train. It was always so much fun and went out over a long, tall bridge. I was expecting to see it again, but this ride took a different route.

There were old train cars and equipment all along the tracks. Daddy had fun explaining what they all were.

It was only a 20 minute ride, but that was about perfect, at least for Tucker's age!

Tucker could see much better out the window with Daddy

Most of what we saw outside of Boone on our ride.

Doyle thought the old snow plows were really interesting,

and HUGE!

Our little conductor

So cute!

After our trip, getting off the train.

A nice couple, all dressed up for the dinner train, offered to take a family picture for us!

The Thomas train even made the schedule!

Another parent took this for us with Thomas.

They had a big line to get the "good" photos taken in front of Thomas, so we just settled for this one. We'd had a fun, full day and were tired and ready to get home! Tucker had a great time and talked about riding the train for weeks!
