Father's Day Camping

For father's day this year we decided to go camping at Lake MacBride State Park. It was raining most of the afternoon/evening on Friday so we thought it would be best to wait and head over on Saturday. We got lucky and found someone leaving right when we were coming in. We set up our tent with lots of help from Tucker!

He put stakes in every hole all the way around the tent. Doyle thought I'd done it, but then we realised Tucker was helping out!

After some lunch we went to the beach area of the lake and went for a swim. Tucker was a little nervous abuot the water but had fun as long as we were holding him and playing ball.

Then we rented a pontoon boat and took it out. Tucker even took some turns driving. He would say "round and round" and then turn us in big circles! Luckily there weren't any other boats around at this time!

We made foil meals for supper with steak, potatos, mushrooms and green peppers. They turned out great!

We set up the kitchen in the back of the van which worked really well.

Tucker discovered that he could get the cooler open and brought us the gallon of milk more than a few times. He also discovered that he likes Gatorade!

The boys in their camp chairs in front of the fire before s'mores.

It ended up raining most of Saturday night too which is when we discovered that our tent leaks. We haven't used it in years but we don't remember it leaking last time! After fighting with tarps and towels most of the morning we packed up and threw all the wet stuff in the back of the van and headed home. It was still an awesome trip and we all had a lot of fun!
