Heal the Heartland Festival

The anniversary of the flood was the weekend of June 13th and the city of Cedar Rapids was celebrating the rebuilding. They were having activities and concerts all over town. There was a Flood-stock but we chose the more "family friendly" Heal the Heartland. Papa, Nana, and Miah all got to come over too. They had kids activities all day and cheap food.

Tucker got a planet tatoo on one arm that he kept calling a ball so we had them paint a ball on the other arm too. He loved that and walked around all day showing off his arms.

Then in the evening there was a FREE Barlow Girl/Newsboys concert. It was awesome!

The new lead singer for the Newsboys is Michael Tate who was a member of DCTalk back in the old days! It was great because we got to hear songs from both bands!

Doyle and Miah were obssesed with these graphic "screens" behind the stage. We went to the front of the crowd, we noticed they were actually tubes lined up about an inch apart. We don't know how they make it look solid, but it's not!
